Tattoo Service

Tattoo Service

When you arrive for your tattoo service, you will consult with one of our artists to finalize your design, tattoo size, location, and the price. You can also do a consultation ahead of time and come back to get your tattoo done.

After the consultation, you will need your identification for proof of age; then you’ll fill out the paperwork and provide payment for the tattoo service. Once your paperwork is complete, you will be seated in the chair or table in an open area or private room, depending on the location of your tattoo and your preference. Our artists will then prepare the area to be tattooed by cleaning it with alcohol, removing hair, and cleaning the area a second time. Next, an outline of the tattoo design will be transferred onto your skin, followed by the preparation of our tools.

Then it’s time to begin creating the tattoo. The outline is done first, followed by coloring in sections and shading. The total time of your tattoo service will greatly depend on the size, detail, and colors included in your tattoo design. For especially large scale and detailed tattoos, multiple sessions may be required to accommodate your and Wicked 13 Tattoo & Piercings’ schedules.

Your tattoo service is finished by adding a protective ointment and applying a bandage, followed by instructions for aftercare.

Microblading, also known as micro stroking, is an advanced brow embroidery technique whereby a superfine row of needles is used to create thin, hair like marks on the skin, which last up to 18 months.

It is ideal for creating a very full and realistic looking brow, and is becoming an increasingly poplar method in permanent makeup.

It is quite similar to hair stroke cosmetic tattoo using the machine method, however the strokes are finer, and are not implanted as deeply in the skin. Therefore, cosmetic tattoo brows completed using micro bale or microstroke technique are not as permanent. They are really to be considered semi-permanent, lasting usually around 12 months before a retouch is required.

During the treatment, after a brow consolation, the new brow shape outline is penciled on, the brow area is number, and then pigment is implanted into the skin using very tiny needle strokes. These are built up into the new shapem and the area gradually made denser with lots of tiny hair strokes deeding on the desired result.

The treated bows are usually a little tender, and the colors a little darker than the healed result-but they are not normally so dark as to be unsightly. Normal activities like wrk and socializing can generally be resumed the same day. They lighten considerably to a softer tone over the next 10-14 days.

Tattoo Aftercare

Wicked 13 Tattoo & Piercings provides thorough instructions for the aftercare of your tattoo. It is very important to follow these instructions meticulously to avoid infection and ensure timely, effective healing. It usually takes 7 to 14 days for the tattoo to look healed, and up to a month for a tattoo to be fully healed beneath the skin’s surface.

Keep any bandaging on for at least 2 hours, but no more than 7 hours. After that time, you can remove the bandage to show everyone your new art, but be sure to clean it with non-scented anti-bacterial soap. Wash your hands before touching the area and do not scrub with anything. Use luke warm water in the shower and do not let the water beat onto your tattoo. You should also use cold water on your tattoo after a shower to seal the ink into your pores. After you wash the area, use a soft, dry towel to pat it dry.

During the first 24 hours especially, do not lean on anything with your tattoo. Most people go out and show off their artwork, but bars, tables, and walls are full of bacteria, which your new tattoo is extra sensitive to at this point. You might hear about many products to rub onto your skin to promote the healing of your tattoo. While some may not hurt your skin, most either don’t help or can fade the colors if you apply too much. Lubriderm or Aquaphor are unscented, gentle products that will aid in healing and won’t damage the colors.

The staff at Wicked 13 Tattoo & Piercings creates beautiful, custom tattoos, but despite their appearance, they are still an open wound and need to be treated as such. Always wash your hands before applying lotion to avoid the transfer of dangerous bacteria. Use a small amount of lotion and gently rub it in, reapplying 3 to 4 times per day.

The first week of care is the most important—here are a few common areas to point out for that critical time period.

  • Sleeping—You may want to consider using a designated set of bedding to avoid staining from the top layer of ink. It’s also important to sleep with the tattooed area exposed, if possible, or at least place a thin towel between your tattoo and the sheets. If the sheet is stuck to your skin in the morning, take the sheet to the shower with you and use cool water to get it off.
  • Never pick any scabs! Scabbing is your body’s way of healing your skin, so it is important to leave the scabs alone. Eventually, they will dry up and come off on their own. Picking a scab can scar your skin and ruin the tattoo. If you see mild peeling or a little bit of color coming off when you clean or moisturize the tattoo, this is normal.
  • Clothing—Try to wear loose fitting clothing over the tattooed area whenever possible, or keep the area bare, including your feet as is possible. This should be done for the first week. The tattoo needs to breathe and remain free from sweat as much as possible.
  • Sun & Swimming—For proper healing, color retention, and the protection of your skin, you MUST keep the tattoo out of the sun during the entire healing process. If your tattoo cannot be kept out of the sun, apply the strongest SPF you can find every 2 hours. You should also avoid any type of swimming for the first 3 weeks after getting a tattoo, including lakes, pools, hot tubs, and saunas.

Permanent Makeup

Permanent Makeup

Wicked 13 Tattoo & Piercing also offers permanent makeup applications. This process adds organic pigment, which is embedded beneath the skin to permanently add color in that area. Similar to the tattooing process, a hand-held device with a needle punctures the skin, pushing pigment into the desired location. Permanent makeup can define the eyes, enhance eyebrows and lips, and create the look of blush and eye shadow.
